The Conservatory of Dance Policy Commitment

1) The Conservatory of Dance Policies listed below in sections 6-37 outline the expectations and commitments of the dancers and their parents and/or legal guardians to the Conservatory of Dance. All dancers and their parents and/or legal guardians are expected to comply with the Policies, and if the Policies are not complied with, the Artistic Director reserves the right to withdraw the dancer from class or performance without refund.
2) Any correspondence to the dancers and their parents and/or legal guardians from the Conservatory of Dance that addresses procedures, rules, notifications, and information becomes part of the Policies.
3) The Artistic Director reserves the right to amend, add to, or change the Policies at any time as the Artistic Director deems appropriate, and will notify the dancers and their parents and/or legal guardians of such modifications.
4) Upon completing and signing the Conservatory of Dance Registration Form, dancers and their parents and/or legal guardians acknowledge and accept the Policies.
5) Instructors are required to review and understand the Policies and notify the Artistic Director regarding Policy infractions.

Registration/Withdrawal/Classes
6) Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
7) All classes are limited in size.
8) A complete registration includes (1) Registration Form; (2) Emergency Medical Release Form; (3) Wardrobe Form, if applicable; and (4) applicable payments. Incomplete registrations will not be processed.
9) The Conservatory of Dance will attempt to confirm all registrations.
10) The $25.00 registration fees are non-refundable.
11) Written notification is appreciated if a dancer withdraws from a class. No refund will be given after the 2nd class attended.
12) Placement in classes is ultimately determined by the Artistic Director, who reserves the right to change placement after classes have begun.
13) Additional classes are available with a minimum of six dancers if a studio and an instructor are available. Please call for details.
14) All classes are subject to change.

Attendence/Wardrobe/Etiquette
15) Please notify the Artistic Director if there are any personal, extenuating circumstances regarding attendance as soon as possible so that the Artistic Director may discuss with you and the instructor.
16) Please arrive before class time. If a dancer arrives more than ten minutes late, they must sit and watch the class. This is critical for their own safety, as well as a courtesy to the other class members and the teacher.
17) Dancers must be promptly picked up no later than ten minutes after class has ended.
18) Missed classes and snow days may be made up in a class of the same or lower level if arranged in advance with the Artistic Director. Refunds will not be given for missed classes. No missed class may be made-up after June 3, 2006.
19) No refunds or credits are given for missed classes and/or snow days.
20) All dancers must arrive at class in proper attire as enumerated in the Class Attire section. Students will not be allowed to participate without proper shoes and attire.
21) The Conservatory of Dance enforces a dress code for all classes, rehearsals, and performances. We reserve the right not to allow any dancer to participate if not properly attired, including hair.
22) All youth ballet classes have required leotards, which may be ordered from the Conservatory of Dance and paid for at the time of registration.
23) Remember that NO STREET SHOES are allowed on the dance floors. Only designated dance shoes or bare feet are allowed inside the studios.
24) For your convenience and privacy, please call the studio to schedule an appropriate time to speak with the Artistic Director or an instructor.
25) No jewelry allowed during classes, rehearsals or performances.
26) Dancers must treat one another, their instructors, and volunteers with respect.
27) Behavior that is disrespectful violates the Policies and/or puts an individual dancer, other dancers, instructors, volunteers, or visitors at risk will not be tolerated.
28) Dancers are responsible for cleaning up after themselves in the studios, lobby, bathroom, outside the studio, at rehearsals and at performances.
29) The studio and staff are not responsible for lost or stolen articles.

Fees/Payments
30) All payments, including but not limited to registration, tuition, payment plans, wardrobe, late fees, costumes, and deposits must be paid in a timely fashion no later than the prescribed due date.
31) All payment obligations must be satisfied or dancers will not be allowed to participate in any class or performance until payment arrangements have been made.
32) Returned checks or declined credit cards will incur a $25.00 fee and may compromise a dancer’s registration and/or eligibility to participate in class or performances.
34) Conservatory of Dance does not prorate tuition fee based on late registration.

Costumes/Performance
35) Information packets will be prepared and distributed to each dancer and their parents and/or legal guardians providing pertinent information regarding rehearsals, costumes, photos, and the performance.
36) Costume fees for the end of year performance will range from $65.00-$95.00 and must be paid by December 2nd or late fees will be incurred and dancer will not be able to participate in class until payments are made.
37) Costumes will be measured the week of November 28th-December 2nd and must be paid in full at this fitting. Costume measurements will be obtained to determine general sizes: small, medium and large. Alterations may be required and are the dancer’s responsibility. Conservatory of Dance does not prorate tuition fee based on late registration.
